Nibbl is designed to help you track nutrition simply, without collecting unnecessary personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data is (and is not) collected, how AI is used, and how your information is handled.

Information We Do Not Collect
Nibbl does not require a separate account and does not ask for personal details such as:
- Name
- User ID
- Email address
- Weight
- Height
- Age
- Gender
- Location
- IP address
- Health or medical records
Nibbl does not build personal profiles, track your behavior across apps, or collect data for advertising.
Nutrition Data You Enter
When you enter food information into Nibbl, that data is:
- Stored locally on your device
- Used only to display nutrition information and statistics within the app
- Not sold, shared, or used for advertising purposes
If you change or replace your Android device, data will transfer if using Google's phone backup/restore or data transfer services.
If you use AI features, the nutrition description is processed on the server in an anonymous form. We do not store personal identifiers alongside this data.
Anonymous nutrition data may be retained for troubleshooting, system operations, and product improvements.
Use of AI Services
Nibbl uses AI-based services to generate nutrition information from food descriptions only when you request an analysis.
Important points about AI usage:
- AI processing occurs on demand, not continuously
- No personal profile is created
- Each analysis is processed independently
- Your data is not used to train advertising systems
- Personally identifying information is not shared with AI providers
AI is used solely as a calculation tool to estimate nutritional values.
User-generated content notice:
Nibbl stores anonymized food analysis requests. If a request includes personal information, that information may be logged as part of the request. For example: "A pretzel with my friend Milhouse at the Springfield mall."
Do not enter any information into the app that you would like to keep private.
App Usage Data
Nibbl may collect limited, anonymous app usage data for the purpose of:
- Diagnosing crashes or errors
- Improving app stability and performance
- Preventing API abuse and controlling operational costs
- Supporting system operations
This data does not include personal identifiers, IP addresses, or sensitive health information. Usage signals are tied to subscription identifiers that are not linked to a specific individual.
Usage data includes AI token usage tied to your subscription ID to support abuse prevention and cost controls.
Subscriptions
Nibbl offers optional subscriptions to enable AI-based food analysis after an initial free period.
- Subscription payments are handled by Google Play
- Nibbl does not receive your payment details
- Subscription status and identifiers are used only to determine feature access and enforce usage limits
Data Sharing
Nibbl does not sell your data.
Data may be shared only in the following limited cases:
- With service providers strictly necessary to operate the app (e.g., AI computation services)
- When required by law or legal process
All service providers are required to handle data in accordance with applicable privacy standards.
Children's Privacy
Nibbl is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices and Control
You are always in control of your data:
- You can delete food entries at any time
- You can stop using AI features
- You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored data
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated policy will be made available within the app or on the app's listing page.
